Bluecoat “American” Dry Gin

The Bluecoat American Dry is distilled in a traditional copper pot still and is named after the uniforms worn by the militia in the American Revolution. The botanical recipe is kept secret however the style is a classic dry gin.

 

70cl 47% vol.

Nose: Pine needles, juniper and a blast of citrus open up this dry gin.

Palate: The juniper becomes more concentrated and the citrus element opens up into orange blossom and sherbet lemon.

Finish: The finish is sweet with a final hit of zesty citrus fruit.

Overall: A wonderful dry gin with refreshing citrus

Bluecoat “barrel reserve” american Dry Gin

Utilizing a barrel finishing process from the 18th century, Bluecoat Barrel Finished Gin is produced by aging Bluecoat American Dry Gin for a minimum of three months, providing a unique, well rounded and complex spirit.

 

70cl 47% vol.

Nose: Lots of caramel and butterscotch to this one. Woody juniper just manages to peek through.

Palate: Similar to the nose, there’s a lot of the barrel’s influence here, though a touch of orange and lemon does make itself heard.

Finish: Long and quite floral.

Overall: A fine example of cask aged gin.
